Five Ways to Save on Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line is a premium experience, but it also comes with a hefty price tag. Luckily, I have 5 tips to help you save on your magical voyage!

1. Use cash back credit cards

Get a discount directly from your credit card! Cards like the Chase Freedom Unlimited can offer up to 3% cash back on purchases your first year.

2. Purchase discounted Disney gift cards

Every once in a while, Costco and Sam’s Club sell discounted Disney gift cards which can be used to pay off your cruise. We love Costco’s $449.99 for $500 gift card deal (limit 2). That’s an easy 10% off $1000!

3. Book a placeholder cruise

While sailing a Disney cruise, you can book a future cruise, called a Placeholder, at a 10% discount. Placeholders are open-ended reservations that allow Guests to pick their cruise at a later time. A $250 deposit must be paid on board and is fully refundable if canceled.

4. Book early and off-season

Disney cruises typically get pricier the closer it is to the sail date, so book early and off-season if you can. If the rate for your room type goes down before you pay in full, you can ask Disney for a price adjustment.

5. Use a travel agent

Travel agencies, like Like Magic Travel, offer FREE services and may also include on-board credit. If you booked a cruise directly with Disney, you can transfer the reservation to an agent within 30-days to access their incentives and services.
